SUCCESS STORIES

Miniature American Shepherd
Steele
Huge thank you to Lindsay with Stillwater Training! I had an unpredictable regression stage with my mini Aussie Steele and was in desperate need of a professionals help!
After just 2 weeks with Lindsay, she put the fine tuning back into my sweet girl and now she is just absolutely amazing! Her recall is unreal, and she is so amazing on and off leash, in crowds and most public settings!
I could not have done this myself! I highly recommend Lindsay and her services, she has been in the industry for years and it shows! So grateful for her and will absolutely be using her training services for future pups!

Australian Shepherd
Rainbow
In August 2021, my wife and I sent Rainbow, a one-year old aussie boy, to Stillwater Ranch with Lindsey, to have his summer camp. You literally cannot find a better place than an Aussie breeders' ranch to take care of a crazy Aussie.
Rainbow was very hyper around other dogs and there were some recalling issues as he was too urged to explore the world. Not being motivated by treats/food makes the training more challenging. However, we were so surprised by the progression Rainbow made with Lindsey in 3 weeks as Rainbow presents a very stably calm status and respect to the boundaries, which is the most important thing that Lindsey taught us.
Lindsey helped us to build a solid foundation for Rainbow to understand the basics and further instructed us to maintain the rules/boundaries to keep training Rainbow. Once we figure out the key principle interacting with Rainbow in addition to that good foundation, it is only a matter of consistency and patience.
I cannot address more how helpful Lindsey is. She is such a great trainer with lots of love for dogs and she's always willing to help. If you have a hyper dog especially like an Aussie or Border Collie, trust Lindsey and learn from her!

Miniature American Shepherd
Astra
Lindsey was a lifesaver for me and Astra. At the time, she would lunge at cars and bikes when we went out for a walk. She used to pull on the leash all the time and had a mild case of separation anxiety. All of these behaviors have been corrected: Astra loves her kennel now and is great at walks.
Her expertise in the MAS breed is amazing and I am super happy I found her.

She is also always available for questions and concerns and is quick to respond.

I'd recommend Lindsey 120%–it's a no-brainer :)

Miniature American Shepherd
Bowie
In 2019, I purchased a 9-month-old Miniature American Shepherd, Bowie. I had big plans to compete in AKC conformation events, as this boy was an exceptional purebred.
When Bowie arrived in California, I quickly realized he was essentially feral and had almost no human contact during his first nine months of life. I have a lifetime of experience working with dogs and livestock, but I had never encountered an adult dog with this kind of issue before.
Bowie was scared of everything. He wasn’t aggressive, but he wasn’t comfortable around people. He wasn’t leash trained, crate trained, house trained, or trustworthy off leash. In fact, he would bolt to find refuge away from me. Since I had zero experience with this kind of challenge, I reached out to Lindsey for help. Raising a dog is one thing, but fixing major issues in an older dog is a huge challenge I didn’t feel comfortable tackling alone.
I left Bowie with Lindsey for a solid month. After that time, he was an entirely different dog. He went from being fearful and running from people to becoming a balanced gentleman who could be handled in the show ring and taken on adventures away from home. The biggest win is that he can now be trusted off leash! He has a solid recall and enjoys roaming open spaces and going on adventures with me and my pack.
What Lindsey did for my dog is truly priceless. He didn’t have a good quality of life before, and now he enjoys the freedom of exploring the farm and ranch off leash. The difference in his happiness and confidence is clear.

I consider myself a skilled animal communicator, but I could never have achieved this level of success with a dog like Bowie without Lindsey’s help. She is the real deal in a world full of self-proclaimed trainers. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with one of my dogs.

Golden Retriever-Lab-Saint Bernard Mix
Brooks
In June 2025, we were at the heartbreaking point of deciding whether to keep our 1.5-year-old, 90lb pup or find him a new home. He had turned into a complete handful...nipping, barking, chewing, jumping on people (and our kids), never listening…no matter what we tried, it only got worse.

Lindsey stepped in with clear advice and a training plan. We had him neutered (per her recommendation), then we signed him up for the 'Manners Matter' training, where he stayed with her for three weeks. On weekends, we visited and trained with him, because we needed the lessons just as much as the dog.

The difference is incredible. Walks are no longer a complete nightmare, and instead of nipping, he now seeks out affection and listens intently. He’s turned into a big, sweet teddy bear and is now so gentle with our kids–it's more than we could have hoped for.

Lindsey’s patience, expertise, and genuine care made all the difference. If you’re struggling with your dog, don’t wait—work with her. You and your pup will be so glad you did.

Miniature Australian Shepherd
Meeko
My 3-year-old mini aussie, Meeko, spent three weeks with Lindsey for a board and train, working on reactivity towards other dogs and general obedience / manners.
The difference in Meeko's behavior and the improvement in my ability to communicate with him cannot be understated - it has made a world of difference. Lindsey has a natural way with dogs and a deep understanding of how to connect with them, where to give reward and affection, and where to draw boundaries when needed.
It's been about six months since he returned home and he is only improving - continuing to relax, to trust me and look to me for guidance before reacting, and being more attentive towards me in all situations. Lindsey also taught me how to be a better handler and more skillful in my communications with Meeko, giving me the tools and knowledge to continue what she started, and she has been available to help every step of the way - any time I have a question or we hit a little road bump, she is happy and eager to help me through it.
Lindsey is someone I hope to continue working with for life, with Meeko and all future dogs to come!

Miniature American Shepherd
Levi
We brought our dog to Lindsey for reactivity to strangers. When visiting family and friends, his behavior towards others was often debilitating.
Even though she only had him for 2 weeks, his fear reactivity was toned down dramatically, setting him up to succeed in the long term. The sole purpose of our board and train was fear of aggression, but the foundations of his basic obedience were tightened up as well. He came back to us as a much improved, more well rounded dog.

Mini Aussie (Rescue)
Cisco
We are feeling very grateful we found Lindsey at Stillwater Ranch. Cisco was a rescue with some challenging and bossy behaviors. He spent three weeks training with Lindsey learning leash manors, basic commands like sit, stay and place and to not stop barking on command.
She was wonderful to work with and gave me the skill set to continue his training at home.
I highly recommend her for board and dog training.
